New solution offers the combined power and proven capabilities of DRC's rating, analysis, and underwriting assistance tools.

BOSTON, MA –June 5, 2006

At the IASA Annual Conference, Decision Research Corporation (DRC), a rating and policy processing software solution provider to the property & casualty insurance industry, today announced the launch and immediate availability of their DecisionMaker Rating Enterprise Edition, offering insurers a complete solution for automated rate program roll-outs and analysis.

The Enterprise Edition integrates all of the powerful features of DecisionMaker Rating, DecisionMaker Analyzer, and DecisionMaker Assistant.  By combining DRC’s proven set of technologies into a single offering, carriers and MGAs are provided a complete and comprehensive enterprise-capable rating system to enable better understanding and management of their book of business.   Enterprise Edition leverages Microsoft’s SQL Server 2005 reporting and analytical services to view and drill into the rating composition.

“We are pleased to introduce the Enterprise Edition of our rating solution.  While the combined solution is a new offering the underlying components are widely installed and in production use throughout our user community.  With everything provided in a single solution, insurers have a common set of well integrated rating tools to address their enterprise rating needs,” said Karen Yamamoto, DRC’s Vice President of Product Development.  “And, since we continue to use Excel as the primary modeling tool, the actuaries and product managers have a minimal learning curve to develop their proficiency.”

DecisionMaker Enterprise Edition components include:

DecisionMaker Rating: A set of technologies and tools that enable product managers and actuaries to quickly build automated rating and underwriting services from existing Excel spreadsheet models.

DecisionMaker Analyzer: A tool designed to allow carriers to rerate books of business, conduct impact assessments on their book of business at the policy / coverage level and study the effects that hypothetical changes will have on revenue,

DecisionMaker Assistant: A tool designed to relieve the Underwriters from the need to explain, illustrate, and communicate underwriting business rules to the IT staff.

Additional DecisionMaker Rating Enterprise Edition features include:

  • Centralized DecisionMaker Rating development server for the entire rating development team.
  • Multi-developer environment tool that assists in collaborative rate plan development.
  • Adapters to version control systems to ensure proper tracking and change management of rate plans.
  • Centralized compilation service to eliminate inconsistent compilation versions.
  • Test case development tools
  • Automated signature-based testing using test cases
  • Push-based publishing to assist rate plan deployment over multiple servers
