Karen Yamamoto is the President of Decision Research Corporation (DRC) and oversees the company’s operations and strategic direction. Karen has been with DRC for over 30 years and key in maintaining customer relationships, communicating value proposition, and defining product strategy.
Karen brings over 25 years of insurance software technology and development expertise DRC. With an in-depth knowledge and understanding of every aspect of the development process, she knows what it takes to deliver successful, enterprise insurance software solutions and services all backed by DRC’s commitment to deliver to customers’ complete satisfaction. As president, Yamamoto leads with a “hands-on” approach. In addition to her management and oversight responsibilities, Karen remains actively involved in customer engagements and is an integral player in the product design and development of innovative insurance solutions DRC designs for P&C companies.

Jon Ogoshi has been DRC’s Chief Financial Officer for 20+ years. Jon is responsible for all of DRC’s finance, accounting, financial reporting, human resources, contracts and legal, and organization operations. Jon’s principal mission is to support DRC clients by facilitating the delivery of DRC product and services by its most valued assets, its intellectual property, and professionals.
Jon’s prior professional experience includes 11 years at Ernst & Young, a Big Four accounting firm. As a Senior Manager, he specialized in Financial Strategy and Analysis, Value Added Analysis, Financial Accounting Compliance, Tax Planning and Compliance Preparation, Regulatory Reporting, Risk Management, and Cash Management.
Prior to EY Jon was a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Information Systems Auditor, and also served for six years as Chief Financial Officer for Honolulu Mortgage, the largest Hawaii mortgage banker, as its. Other qualifications include Planning/Budget, Financial Reporting, Administering External Audits, Bank Relationship Management, Facilities Management, Financial Systems, General Ledger Control, Internal Control Review, and Computer Auditing. Jon is an aficionado of Kona coffee and spreads his barista skills throughout the DRC organization and beyond.

Les McElhaney joined DRC in 2013 and serves as the Vice President of Product & Technology. Les has 20+ years of leadership experience in both insurance information technology and insurance product management. Les brings extensive insurance industry experience to his role. Prior to joining DRC, Les was with W.R. Berkley and earlier held executive level positions at Farmers Insurance, Insurance Company of the West, Fiserv and 21st Century Insurance.
At Farmers Insurance and ICW, Les held insurance product management positions where he managed profit and loss and focused on product strategy and development. Les was a pioneer of Internet rating and quoting in the 90s, and has led strategic and tactical activities ranging from design to implementation of diverse insurance solutions such as insured and agent portals, business intelligence solutions, comparative rating systems and mobile insurance applications.
Although these days Les lives and breathes insurance technology, his experience and interests remain remarkably broad. For a decade prior to entering the insurance industry, Les was a literal rocket scientist working on the US Space Shuttle Program. An avid and accomplished cyclist, Les recently completed a trip across the continental United States entirely by bicycle. Les holds an MBA in Technology Management from California Lutheran University and a Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Tennessee Technological University.

As DRC’s Vice President of Business Development Robert Whitton leads the team responsible for identifying new market opportunities and cultivating partnerships & relationships for DRC’s products and services. Rob has been with DRC since 2004 working in various roles including Vice President of Product, project management, product architecture and client implementations.
For over 20 years, Rob has managed and delivered IT projects in support of research and commercial initiatives ranging from telemedicine, to remote locations for the US Department of Defense, to National Science Foundation funded research programs to commercial software in support of large financial services.
He is a former Captain and Military Intelligence Officer in the US Army and celebrated underwater videographer. Rob has worked professionally for production companies producing for National Geographic, Discovery Channel Canada, Sony Corporation, Germany’s ZDF, Japan’s NHK, as well as US Federal and state marine science programs. He has discovered scores of new species of endemic Hawaiian marine life during his years of exploration of Kure Atoll, Papahānaumokuākea Marine National Monument and many other aquatic sites. Rob has a Bachelor of Arts in History from Boston College.

Dave Benedetto is the Vice President of Client Services at DRC. Dave joined DRC in 2004, bringing over 30 years of P&C insurance expertise and technology experience to the company. Dave manages all of DRC’s service and client relations from the company’s Philadelphia regional office. Dave’s job is as easy to describe as it is difficult to perform: ensuring DRC products and services are delivered at exceptional levels to our clients’ compete satisfaction and happiness.
Before joining DRC, Dave worked within application development in three large insurance companies. Dave has also worked at Fusura, an Internet insurance agency. Dave’s prior roles also include senior positions as Manager and Director of Application Development while working at American International Group (AIG), and as Manager of Application Systems at RelianceDirect, another DRC client.
Dave began his professional career at General Accident Insurance Company where he worked as a programmer analyst. Dave has an encyclopedic knowledge of the life of Ben Franklin which he deploys to great effect on Constitutional Walking Tours of Philadelphia. Dave graduated from Peirce College with a degree in Science and Computer Data Processing.
