DRC is proud to support The Nature Conservancy (TNC). TNC Hawai‘i and Palmyra has helped safeguard 2.2 million acres of Hawai’i’s forests, supported more than 70 local communities to protect coral reefs and fish, and established a nearly fossil fuel-free research station at Palmyra Atoll to unlock the secrets of a healthy coral reef ecosystem. Our donation as a Laulima Member advances these efforts as we do our part to malama ‘aina (care for the land). See DRC on TNC’s Corporate Council for the Environment here.
We understand that our social responsibility includes donating to the organizations that do meaningful work and rolling up our sleeves to contribute anywhere and any way we can. DRC currently has a corporate social responsibility program in the works, because the time to act is now. Scientists believe these next 10 years will be the defining decade for our climate future. Here at DRC, we intend to nurture and sustain the places we need and love the same way they have for us.
“Joining forces with visionary leaders like DRC through our Corporate Council makes it possible for TNC to meet the challenges facing our planet,” says Lori Admiral, Director of Philanthropy at TNC Hawai‘i and Palmyra. “Together, we can help protect these special places for future generations.”
We encourage everyone to get out there and join a beach cleanup, help out at a food bank, donate to your favorite charities, and to simply care for the land and communities we are a part of.
