DRC product team working with industry experts at Microsoft Technology Center.

Decision Research Corporation (DRC) product and development team gets the inside look at the Microsoft Technology Center (MTC) in Chicago, IL, during a 3-Day “development powerhouse” session with Microsoft Technology Architects.

Working alongside and under the guidance of some of the industry’s most esteemed technology experts, DRC product team members welcome this opportunity to review the best practices in designing DRC’s software solutions using the Microsoft .NET technology stack, as well as planning DRC’s GameChanger™ product architecture to Get Cloud Ready™ with Microsoft’s Azure cloud computing platform.

In addition, the team will be performance tuning the individual components of  DRC’s DecisionMaker™ Suite to maximize its effectiveness and reduce system overhead.

John Snead, Application Development Manager for DRC on location in Chicago for the MTC session offers, “We are fortunate to be able to travel and learn from the architects at the Microsoft Technology Center.  Not only will we gain more insight into Microsoft’s technical direction, but also this is a great opportunity to have our current development project evaluated by some of the best at Microsoft.  We are looking forward to having MTC give us feedback and suggestions regarding our overall architecture design for GameChanger™ – DRC’s new Policy Administration System scheduled for release in Q4 2012.”

Snead adds, “Our presentation to Microsoft included a short demonstration of GameChanger™ – in its current development state.  Microsoft had some very positive comments about the choices we have already made in our development effort.  The MTC team got into it and really dove deep under the hood of the actual product, one layer at a time.  A detailed review of some of the most important components of the system, the business logic and data access layers were also completed. ”  Snead concludes, “After an in-depth review, we received some very useful suggestions regarding our SQL performance.  Our MTC session was a great success.”

DRC is grateful for the opportunity to engage with Microsoft’s Technology Architects in this 3-Day session and looks forward to implementing current and future insurance software solutions utilizing Microsoft’s superior products, services, and support.
