DRC is deeply committed to making a positive impact in our local communities, and as part of our ongoing efforts to GiveBack, we proudly support the HEMIC Foundation—a non-profit organization established through the generous funding of the Hawaii Employers Mutual Insurance Company (HEMIC). The foundation’s mission resonates strongly with us: “At the HEMIC Foundation, we are not defined by what we give, but by what we do. We firmly believe that philanthropy holds the transformative power to not only reflect our corporate values but also serve as a vital tool for making independent and innovative investments in community building.”
Each year, the HEMIC Foundation organizes a charity golf tournament to raise funds for a local organization in Hawaii. This year, we rallied behind their cause and extended our support to Hawaii Meals on Wheels. This invaluable organization plays a crucial role in addressing the pressing issue of food insecurity faced by over 70,000 of Hawaii’s kupuna (elderly population), who are at risk of hunger. By coordinating the efforts of dedicated volunteers who deliver daily and weekly meals, Hawaii Meals on Wheels empowers these individuals to maintain their independence and dignity. According to their website, they have already made a tremendous impact by delivering over 156,000 meals to our local community.
As part of our contribution, the DRC Hawaii team spent an entire day in the hot sun, meeting and serving refreshing slushies to the golfers who generously supported the initiatives of the HEMIC Foundation. We are thrilled to have had the opportunity to give back in such a fun and engaging manner, and we will continue our commitment to GiveBack in the future!
